Why is the product free during Early Access?: We are validating the model on real workloads. Free until we are confident the savings show up in your bill is the only honest pricing for that phase.
What does "Bring your own AI key" actually mean?: You provide an OpenAI or Anthropic API key. Every model call stepscale AI makes on your behalf is billed directly by the provider to your account. No invoicing through us.
What is the typical AI API spend?: For most ECS or Kubernetes services it is under $50/month. The model only runs during periodic tuning, not on every scaling decision.
What does pricing look like at GA?: Outcome-based. A percentage of the cloud spend we measurably save you, capped, with a free baseline. Early Access design partners get grandfathered terms.
